Dýrabær plugin documentation

Dýrabær is an Icelandic pet store with six stores and an online shop at dyrabaer.is. This plugin brings a Dýrabær pet expert into ChatGPT, Claude and other MCP Apps hosts. It gives advice grounded in Dýrabær's own knowledge base, shows real products with live prices and stock as interactive cards, and builds a basket that checks out on dyrabaer.is.

Connect

• Authentication: none. All data is public store information; no personal data is requested.
• ChatGPT: find "Dýrabær" under Plugins, or mention @Dýrabær in a chat.
• Claude: enable the Dýrabær connector, or add the URL above as a custom connector.

Tools

Seven tools are read-only. show_cart changes only the user's own basket, which is stored in their browser and easy to undo. No tool changes data on the server or places an order.

• search_products: Searches Dýrabær's live product catalog (dyrabaer.is, Shopify) with Icelandic queries. Returns products with ISK prices, sizes and stock.
• show_products: Shows 1 to 6 chosen products as interactive cards with photo, price, price per kg, size choice, a personal reason and an add-to-basket button.
• get_product_details: Full details for one product (description, ingredients, feeding guide, all sizes) shown as a product card.
• show_cart: Adds products to the user's basket and shows it with total, free-delivery progress and a checkout button that opens dyrabaer.is.
• search_pet_knowledge: Searches Dýrabær's expert knowledge base (written by the store's specialists, in Icelandic) on nutrition, care, training, gear, behaviour and the brands sold.
• get_breed_profile: Dog breed facts (148 breeds): adult weight, size class, life stages, exercise, coat and temperament.
• get_store_info: Dýrabær's six stores with addresses, opening hours and whether each is open now.
• get_shop_policies: Delivery, free shipping, returns and terms from the live policy pages on dyrabaer.is.

Buying

The plugin never takes payment. The basket is kept in the user's browser, and the checkout button opens a Shopify cart link on dyrabaer.is with the chosen products. Login, address and payment happen in Dýrabær's normal Shopify checkout.

Safety

Advice is general pet-care guidance, not veterinary care. The plugin makes no medical claims and points users to a veterinarian for warning signs such as a male cat that cannot urinate, suspected poisoning or bloat. It does not sell prescription products.

Data and privacy

Tool calls contain only what the assistant sends: search terms, product ids and an optional short description of the pet. Product lookups are forwarded to Dýrabær's Shopify catalog. Nothing is stored beyond short-lived technical logs at the host (Vercel). See the privacy policy.
